Concessions and rebates

You can maintain existing benefits – If you are currently entitled to a state government concession or rebate for part of your electricity bill, you will continue to receive that concession after your transfer to us.

Centrepay payments – If you are receiving regular Centrelink payments and wish to arrange for payments to be directed to your electricity bill:

  • We can arrange this for you – fill in, sign and send back the Centrepay Authority Form.
  • You can arrange this by going here. You will need your Centrelink CRN, Diamond Energy CRN ( 555-099-362-S ) and your Diamond Energy account reference number, which is located in the payment option section at the back of your bill.

Energy Bill Relief Fund – Under the Energy Bill Relief Fund, the Australian government will provide a 2024-2025 rebate to all Australian households and eligible small businesses. Find out more here.

Life Support Registration

If you have Life Support at your property, fill in and submit the application as directed on the form.

 

Energy concession

If you are a South Australian on a low or fixed income, you could be eligible for a concession directly on your electricity    bills to help you pay for energy costs at your principal place of residence.

 

It is calculated as a flat rate per day and is indexed each year on 1 July.

 

You must meet income and living arrangement criteria to be eligible. Eligibility is assessed by ConcessionsSA within the SA Department of Human Services.

 

Before you apply, make sure that your personal details, such as your address, are up to date with Services Australia  (Centrelink) or DVA and that you have received your first electricity bill from Diamond Energy.

 

Apply or update your details on the SA.Gov website. You cannot apply through Diamond Energy.

 

Medical Heating and Cooling Concession

This concession helps South Australians on a fixed or low income, who have a clinically verified medical condition, to pay for extra energy costs associated with frequently using heating or cooling at home to manage their symptoms.

Emergency Electricity Payment Scheme (EEPS)

This is an emergency payment, available once every 2 years through a financial counsellor, to help people pay for an electricity debt if they are in financial hardship, have a debt to their retailer, and have been or are at risk of being disconnected.

 

To find a financial counsellor, call the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 or visit the SA.Gov financial aid webpage.

ConcessionsSA provides a range of other concessions and assistance programs that can help you pay for the general cost of living, or for specific costs like glasses and funerals.

This rebate is funded by the NSW government and is designed to provide assistance in relation to a residential customer’s electricity bills.

Eligible cards:

• Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
• Health Care Card (HCC)
• Department of Veterans Affairs Card (DVA)

How to apply: Submit a Concession Authorisation form to Diamond Energy.

Life Support Rebate

This rebate is funded by the NSW government and is designed to help people pay their electricity bills if they are required or have someone living with them who is required to use approved energy-intensive equipment at home.

Approved Equipment:

• Electric mobility devices for quadriplegics (note this does not include mobility scooters)
• Oxygen concentrators
• Positive Airways Pressure (PAP) Device
• Enteral feeding pump
• External heart pump
• Home dialysis
• Phototherapy equipment
• Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) pump
• Ventilators (note this does not include nebulizers, humidifiers or vaporizers)

How to apply: Complete the Life Support Rebate Application form by getting your doctor to sign the form, then send to Diamond Energy.

You will need to keep your application up to date by sending us a new form every four years.

Medical Energy Rebate

This rebate is funded by the NSW government and is designed to help people pay their electricity bill if either they or someone living with them has an inability to self-regulate body temperature when exposed to extremes of environmental temperatures.

Eligible cards:

• Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
• Health Care Card (HCC)
• Department of Veterans Affairs Card (DVA)

How to apply: Submit a Medical Energy form to Diamond Energy.

Family Energy Rebate

This rebate is funded by the NSW government and is designed to help eligible households pay their electricity bill if they have dependent children and received the Family Tax Benefit payment from the Commonwealth Department of Human Service.

Eligibility: You must have been the recipient of the Family Tax Benefit (FTB) for the previous financial year.

Seniors Energy Rebate

This rebate is funded by the NSW government and is designed to helps eligible self-funded retirees pay their electricity bills.

Eligible cards: Commonwealth Seniors Card issued by Servies Australia or Department of Veteran Affairs.

This scheme helps people experiencing a short term financial crisis to pay their energy bill.
