Newcastle Biogas (LMS Energy) was part of our innovative renewable generation portfolio from 2018 to 2022.
In co-operation with Newcastle City Council, LMS’ Newcastle Renewable Energy Facility converts landfill methane gas to energy to power over 7,300 individual electricity users in the local community. Since commissioning in July 2009, the facility has generated over 139,000MWh of base-load renewable electricity, and abated over 836,000 tonnes (CO2e) of carbon.
