Joining a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) allows you to receive some extra benefits from your solar and battery system.

By participating in the Green.com.au VPP you are making your solar and battery system available to periodically help support the grid. You’ll receive $300 per annum* (82c/day credit) plus a 40c/kWh overnight feed-in credit if we draw from the battery between the hours of 6pm and 8am. You’ll also receive our standard 5.2c/kWh feed-in credit for any excess solar export to the grid during the day.

These benefits are then consolidated into your electricity bills for easy management.

We keep a close eye on the electricity market. As a Green.com.au VPP participant, we may:

• Change the time the battery charges from solar generation,
• Change the time the energy stored in the battery is used in your home,
• Limit excess solar being sent to the grid, and;
• Occasionally, if we see a need in the electricity market, we may charge up the battery from the grid or discharge the battery electricity to the grid.

You can join the VPP following the installation of your Green.com.au solar and battery system.

After completing an online application to join us as your electricity provider, you’ll receive our readily available market offer in your area and we’ll be in contact with details on our Green.com.au VPP activation steps.

Once you’re activated, we’ll add the Green.com.au VPP add-on to your electricity account.

To be eligible you must:

• Have a solar and battery system installed by Green.com.au
• Have a compatible solar battery system with Minimum Battery Usable Capacity of 5kWh; PV size of 5kW DC and Inverter Capacity of 3kW
• Are a residential customer in SA, Vic, NSW, QLD (Energex, only) and apply online for our readily available market offer
• Are not participating in any other virtual power plan program
• Have a smart meter and a continuous broadband internet connection
• Allow us to have continued access and control of the solar and battery system
• Have no occupants residing at your premises reliant on life support equipment

Our agreements are ongoing, they can be cancelled and there are no exit fees. This means you can switch to another electricity retailer at any time. You can cancel your participation in Green.com.au VPP at any time by notifying us.

We like to keep it simple with one set of market offers for all customers. You’ll receive our readily available market offer in your region with the Green.com.au VPP as an add-on. Your Diamond Energy electricity bill includes daily supply charges, charges for electricity you use from the grid and feed in credits.

With Green.com.au VPP, your electricity bill will also include:

• Green.com.au VPP Credit for our ongoing access and management
• Battery Usage Credit for the excess energy we export to the grid during the hours of 6pm to 8am
