Birkdale Biogas (LMS Energy) was part of our innovative renewable generation portfolio from 2018 to 2022.
In co-operation with Redland City Council, the LMS’ Birkdale Renewable Energy Facility converts landfill methane gas to energy to power over 2,800 individual electricity users in the local community. Since commissioning in April 2010, the facility has generated over 48,000MWh of base-load renewable electricity, and abated over 288,000 tonnes (CO2e) of carbon.
