BioWAVE Pilot Project

BioPower Systems has deployed its 250kW bioWAVE pilot demonstration wave energy technology off the coast of Port Fairy, a coastal town 290km south west of Melbourne. This is the culmination of an intensive development phase and marks the beginning of a testing and demonstration phase. The BioWAVE Pilot Project was part of our innovative renewable generation portfolio from 2013 to 2018.

Diamond Energy has participated throughout the project, including site identification, conducting preliminary assessment, supporting funding applications, generator accreditations and grid connection steps. We are excited to be a partner in one Australia’s first grid connected wave energy projects.
