How does GridCredits100 work?

It’s simple. During a Grid Credit Event, with the help of a Reposit Box we initiate your battery to discharge. You will be credited for this energy at 100c/kWh on your Diamond Energy bill.

Want to find out more? You can read Canstar Blue Review of GridCredits100. You can also read about Nick Pfitzner (in NSW) and Greg Barber (in Vic) who switched to Diamond Energy and are receiving GridCredits100 with their new batteries.

Are Diamond Energy rates competitive?

Diamond Energy rates are competitive across Vic, NSW, QLD (Energex only)

For example, did you know that the average SA residential customer stays with the same electricity retailer for 5.5 years^? Over this period, customers with Diamond Energy would enjoy savings of 16% relative to the best solar and non-solar offers from the big three – that’s the equivalent of 10 months free electricity!**

Why? Our rates continue to be competitive and discounts are ongoing. This means you don’t need to worry about any discount expiry after an initial benefit period.

Like your battery and solar system, our offers are designed to provide you with ongoing value as long as you stay with us.

How many GridCredits100 events may I experience?

There are many factors that determine the frequency and length of any Grid Credit Event. Regions with higher Volatility Factors (VFR) historically tend to experience a greater magnitude of each. You can read more on the AEMO website.

SA and QLD Volatility

High volatility events have been relatively frequent across both South Australia and Queensland coinciding with periods of high demand. The end of 2016 and first quarter of 2017 have been particularly volatile in these markets.

NSW and Vic Volatility

New South Wales and Victoria have experienced a smaller number of potential Grid Credit Events in this period.

How many Grid Credit Events will occur in the future? This is difficult to estimate. However, recent closures of coal fired generators such as Hazelwood in Victoria and higher gas prices are likely to have an impact.

^Potential Grid Credit Events is based on Diamond Energy’s estimated number of high price events in the National Electricity Market over the defined period.
